Jan Aadhaar is the Government of Rajasthan’s unified family and individual identity system. The old Bhamashah Card was replaced by Jan Aadhaar. Rather than getting a 12-digit national UIDAI Aadhaar number, families will receive a 10-digit family ID number, while individuals will receive an 11-digit member ID number.

Quick Reads

  • Jan Aadhaar is the main identity card used in Rajasthan welfare programs.

Jan Aadhaar is Rajasthan’s family ID system that replaces the older Bhamashah card. This is the ID that will be needed for welfare money, food coupons, pensions, healthcare, and other governmental services in the state. Fortunately, it is not as complicated as it may sound. You fill in the application online, download the card once it gets approved, and use it on your smartphone.

This blog walks you through how to sign up, check your status, and download your card, with no office visits required.

What Is Jan Aadhaar Yojana?

The Jan Aadhaar Yojana is Rajasthan’s system for accessing state benefits. The idea: “One Number, One Card, One Identity.” Instead of collecting different documents for different services, you get one card to access everything. It merged what used to be separate processes into one.

Jan Aadhaar works across state departments, some banks, and service providers for state-level welfare, Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT), rations, pensions, and health programmes. You manage your enrollment and download your e-card through the Jan Aadhaar app or SSO portal.

What Are the Key Features of Jan Aadhaar Card?

Jan Aadhaar operates through several core features designed to simplify enrollment and service access.

Biometric Data Reuse

Your Aadhaar number and fingerprints already exist in government records. Jan Aadhaar uses that data instead of asking you to enrol biometrics again.

Online Registration

  • Log in to sso.rajasthan.gov.in with your SSO ID.
  • Fill in your family details and Aadhaar numbers.
  • Upload your bank passbook, birth certificate or age proof, address proof, and Aadhaar copies.
  • Sign with your Aadhaar OTP.
  • No appointments or repeated office visits required.

Two-Level Verification

After you apply, it goes through verification by:

  • First: Village Development Officer (rural) or Subdivision Officer (urban)
  • Second: Block Development Officer (rural) or Subdivision Officer (urban)

Instant Digital Access

Once verification finishes, you download the e-card from the Jan Aadhaar app or SSO portal.

Mobile and Aadhaar Authentication

Your phone number and Aadhaar verification are how you access everything. You get OTP codes via SMS and real-time updates on your phone.
